The 13 types of EDS are:

Symptoms include: generalized chronic pain, autoimmune dysfunction, cognitive dysfunction, GI symptoms, fatigue or chronic fatigue, orthostatic intolerance, respiratory symptoms, vestibular problems, proprioceptive disturbance, and mast cell dysfunction. Some people with EDS can be asymptomatic.
Diagnosis requires either genetic testing, meeting diagnostic criteria or both. While Sun Physical Therapy offers physical therapy treatment for connective tissue disorders, physical therapy staff do not diagnose. Please consult with your primary care physician regarding diagnosis.
The goal of physical therapy is to optimize function. Your physical therapist will design a plan of care that is unique to you and your needs. In general, physical therapy entails a mixture of manual therapy, exercise, and condition management guidance aimed at reducing pain and improving function.
